Fostering
What is fostering?
Fostering is looking after a child or young person in your own
home at a time when they're unable to live with their own
families.
Across Rochdale borough we’ve over 170 foster carers providing
safe, happy and secure homes to children who really need them
...but we still need more carers!
If you've got room in your heart and room in your home, we’d
love to hear from you. Contact us using the details provided.
.
There are various types of fostering available from
emergency, short break care, to long term fostering. There's
certain to be something that suits you.
We worked in partnership with 22 other councils for the You Can
Foster campaign, to recruit more foster carers across the
North West.
Come along and meet our fostering team and existing foster
carers to find out if it's right for you.
There is no typical foster carer. Foster carers come from all
different walks of life and are all ages, genders
and races.
What we look for is people with the enthusiasm, commitment and
time to be able to care for children or young people.
We make sure there is excellent support for our foster carers
and that you can get all the help, training and advice when you
need it.
