Social media

Social media - our main accounts

In addition to this website, we use social networking sites to communicate and interact with local residents. We'd love to hear from you on our social media channels, especially if you’ve been really pleased with something we’ve done. If you've an issue or want to request a service, we'll do our best to help you, but it might be quicker if you apply, report or pay it on the website.

We've also got email alerts for you to keep up to date with the things that matter to you.

X

We'll publish urgent messages through social media platform X, this website, and other methods. We mainly use X to provide updates, the latest news, events, consultations, job vacancies and other information.

You can talk informally to us on X. Tell us about living, working or visiting the borough or comment on what we are posting about. Messages you post to us are read by humans and if you raise genuine concern, we'll do our best to direct you to the best person to help you.

If you want to send a public message to us on X, start your post with @rochdalecouncil.

If you want to send a private message use the Direct Message (DM) option.

Facebook

We have a Facebook page that you can subscribe to. It's a handy way to find out about news and events through a channel you might visit more often than this website.

From time to time, we may create other Facebook pages - for example, to promote events like the Feel Good Festival or marketing campaigns. Where you see the 'Follow us on Facebook' logo on this website, click to visit our relevant Facebook page.

Other platforms

We would love to hear from you on social media. If you’ve been really pleased with something we’ve done, it’s always great to listen to your feedback. If you have an issue or want to ask a question, we will do our best to help you.

The borough of Rochdale is a great place to live, work and visit and we want to share that with as many people as possible. If you know of an event, place or business others in the borough would be interested in, why not share it on our pages?

We’d love to see your pictures from across the borough – show them using the hashtag #myrochdale.
