​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The borough of Rochdale enjoys excellent transport links thanks to the M62 motorway to the south of the town, a good rail link between Rochdale and Manchester city centre, a frequent tram service running into Rochdale town centre and frequent bus services to the surrounding areas. For national and international air travel, Manchester Airport is a 35 minute drive from Rochdale town centre.

Rochdale Intercha​nge (bus station and tram stop)

Located on Smith Street, the Rochdale Interchange has improved safety, security and the level of facilities provided for bus passengers and links directly with the Metrolink​.

It provides a safe, comfortable environment for catching buses along with a taxi rank, parking spaces for cyclists, a café, electronic passenger information displays and toilets.

Located next to the town centre Metrolink stop, it makes it much easier for people to transfer between services. The nearest train station to Rochdale Interchange is Rochdale Railway St​​​ation, approximately half a mile away.

  • Rochdale Metrolink​ timetable services run every 12 minutes fr​om Rochdale town centre, calling at key employment centres at Kingsway, Shaw and Crompton, Oldham Mumps, Central Park and Manchester city centre.
