Standard pre-application advice services and charges

Using our pre‑application advice service can make the planning process smoother and quicker and may help prevent you from submitting a proposal that is unlikely to be approved.

The table below explains what advice you can get and how much it costs, depending on your development.

All prices include VAT.

Input from up to 3 consultees. Must be included with initial pre-application advice request.

Pre-application advice follow-up meeting for:

  • Householders
  • Heritage sites
  • Developments between 1-9 dwellings
  • Projects up to 999m² of floorspace
  • Sites smaller than 0.49 hectares

An up to 1 hour follow-up meeting following the issue of written advice.

Pre-application advice follow-up meeting for:

  • Householders
  • Heritage sites
  • Developments of more than 10 dwellings
  • Projects over 999m² of floorspace
  • Sites larger than 0.49 hectares

Additional/ follow up meetings. Can either be requested with initial pre-application advice request or following the issue of written advice.
