The Resilient Roch Project

Free flood resilience and energy efficiency advice

Flood resilience is about how well your property can cope in the event of a flood. We also want to make homes warmer and more energy efficient.

As part of the Resilient Roch Project, we're delivering free advice, including flood resilience and energy efficiency surveys, across parts of Littleborough and Wardleworth which are most likely to be impacted by flooding.

You could get free flood and energy efficiency measures installed at your property including:

  • Flood doors
  • Property insulation
  • Heating systems

How to get free flood resilience and energy efficiency advice

Our flood resilience and energy efficiency advice surveys are available until Tuesday, 30 April 2024.

If you live in or own a property in Littleborough or Wardleworth that is eligible for this project, you'll receive a letter from us.

You may also get a visit from our team while they're calling door-to-door. You can let them know you're interested in getting free flood resilience measures and ask any questions you have about the project.

If you were out when we called or lost your letter, you can also register your interest in getting free flood resilience measures by getting in touch with us using the contact details on this page.

Why we need to visit your home

We need to visit your home to help us understand:

  • The structure and condition of your property
  • Where flood water could enter and damage your property (noting any existing flood resilience measures you may already have)
  • The layout of your property including where the meters are located and the loft space

Surveys will be carried out on our behalf by:

  • JBA Consulting
  • Groundwork Energyworks
  • Structural building assessors approved by us

All assessors will carry identification. They only need to look around the rooms in your home and outside your property.

Where possible, surveys shouldn't take more than 2 hours. There will need to be someone over the age of 18 at the property while the surveys take place. If you don't own the property, we'll need permission from your landlord.
