Where to register
You can register a birth with us at Rochdale Register Office.
You should register a birth with us if:
- The birth took place in Rochdale borough.
- The birth took place in Manchester but the mother is a Rochdale borough resident. You've also the option to register the birth in Manchester instead.
From 1 May 2021, you cannot register with us if the birth took place in Oldham, even if the mother lives in Rochdale borough - you have to register the birth in Oldham instead. Oldham Council made this decision. Register a birth in Oldham.
