Recycling lessons

A class of young school children learning about recycling in different coloured bins.
Our recycling lessons cover ways to reduce, reuse, recover and recycle at home using interactive games.

We're keen that everyone helps to make our borough a more environmentally friendly place to live and work. We can do this by recycling well and reducing waste.

Workshops for local schools, businesses, and community groups

Our education team delivers free interactive workshops to:

  • Schools
  • Colleges
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students
  • Talk English
  • Youth groups
  • Visits and talks at public community events

Recycling lessons for primary schools

If you work at a primary school in the borough of Rochdale, we can organise a fun and engaging recycling lesson that takes a closer look at Our World and what we can do to make it a better place.

We cover ways to reduce, reuse, recover and recycle at home using interactive games and the chance to learn more about our food heroes who love to help eliminate food waste.

Every child who takes part receives a certificate and a food hero’s bookmark.
