Cost of living: Household Support

About the Household Support Fund

With funding made available to us by the Department for Work and Pensions, we're investing a further £4.6 million to help support older residents and households most in need.

This financial support will be used for: 

  • Food vouchers - we're targeting support for low-income families by providing e-food vouchers. 
  • Energy costs for older people - we'll be targeting support and contacting individuals.
  • Household Fund - we'll be investing further in our Household Fund for anyone who is in financial need.
  • Household energy scheme - this will be operated through Groundwork.
  • Homelessness prevention.

We're working with partners across the borough, including the voluntary sector, community groups and charities, to make sure those most in need receive the targeted assistance.


Household Fund

If you're having financial issues during 2023, you may be able to access superstore vouchers, fuel vouchers and other help through our Household Fund. 

Eligibility 

Anyone who is in financial need is eligible to apply for this fund.

Essential supplies

We've allocated additional money to our voluntary sector partners who provide food banks, food clubs and food pantries. Residents can access food, essential supplies, cleaning products, nappies, baby food and sanitary products.


Energy costs including help with bills

We've allocated additional money to Groundwork to help you keep your home warm. Groundwork offers a free service to help you with your bills, repair heating systems, install energy efficiency measures, offer advice on energy-saving measures and more.
