Early Help Assessments (EHAs)

About Early Help Assessments (EHAs)

Every family is unique and everyone can experience problems that are difficult to deal with without help.

As a professional, you can help families get the right support by completing an Early Help Assessment (EHA).

  • Is a voluntary process - the family choose to be involved in the process and can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Involves completing an assessment with a family to find out what their problems are and decide on what help is needed.
  • Is an action planning process - you'll agree on the next steps and actions with the other professionals who are part of the process.
  • Is led by a lead professional who coordinates the Early Help support package. View information about lead professionals.
