Business rates are calculated by multiplying the rateable value of your business property and the business rates multiplier.

Multipliers are reviewed every year.

2026–27 business rates multipliers

The following multipliers take effect from 1 April 2026:

  • 38.2p for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses with a rateable value under £51,000
  • 43p for businesses with a for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses with a rateable value of £51,000–£499,999
  • 43.2p for businesses with a rateable value under £51,000
  • 48p for businesses with a rateable value of £51,000–£499,999
  • 50.8p for all businesses with a rateable value of £500,000 and above
