Jobs with the council
Our council jobs are advertised on the Greater Jobs website. On here you'll find job vacancies for Rochdale Borough Council and other councils in Greater Manchester.
Temporary jobs with the council through agencies
As part of the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) we use Reed to help us recruit to some of the temporary vacancies within Rochdale Borough Council.
To be considered for any of these vacancies you'll need to be registered with Reed themselves, or a recruitment agency that has an agreement with Reed. Your local recruitment agency will be able to advise you if they have an agreement in place with Reed to supply agency workers to AGMA.
Reed, or the recruitment agency, will give you details of their terms and agreements and what the next steps are. If you're successful in gaining employment the recruitment agency will be your employer.

Apprenticeships are real jobs with employers who see the benefit of combining work with industry qualifications.
A traineeship is an education and training programme with work experience that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for. At its core are work preparation training, English and maths for those who need it, and a high quality work experience placement. Traineeships last anything from 6 weeks to a maximum of 6 months.
Giving to others makes us healthier and happier. Evidence also shows that becoming a volunteer can give you the practical experience and training you'll need to become more desirable to prospective employers.
Work experience with the council
You can request a work experience placement with one of our departments. Work experience may help you learn new skills, build your confidence and improve your chances of getting a job.
