White Ribbon events will be taking place throughout the borough of Rochdale on certain dates between Friday, 21 November 2025–Wednesday, 3 December 2025.

White Ribbon candlelit walk and service

Join a candlelit walk from our offices at Number One Riverside to The Parish Church of St Mary in The Baum to help support and raise awareness of the White Ribbon campaign. You can bring a candle in a jar, or can use the torch on a mobile phone.

  • Date: Friday 21 November 2025
  • Time: from 3.30pm
  • Walk starting point:  WHAG offices, 185 Drake Street, Rochdale OL11 1EF
  • Walk finish point: The Parish Church of St Mary in The Baum, 2 St Mary's Gate, Rochdale OL16 1AP
  • Details:
    • 3.30pm: meet at WHAG offices 
    • 4pm: walk to and assemble in front of Number One Riverside
    • 4.03pm: address by Chief Executive of the Council James Binks reaffirming our commitment to ending violence against women and girls
    • 4.05pm: candles to be lit and walk continues
    • 4.30pm: arrival and welcome at The Parish Church of St Mary in The Baum
    • 4.45pm:  speeches from:
      • The Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Janet Emsley
      • Nazir Afzal OBE - British solicitor and former prosecutor
      • Paul Waugh MP
      • Elsie Blundell MP

Domestic violence support from Victim Support

Independent charity Victim Support will be available to offer support to anyone affected by domestic violence.


Crescent Radio - White Ribbon hour

Our domestic support team and ambassadors from the White Ribbon campaign will be talking about the campaign and what support is available for those affected by domestic abuse.


White Ribbon and domestic abuse services information and support

Anyone looking for information and support around domestic violence and the White Ribbon campaign can find information stalls across the borough.







Stalking and harrassment training from Greater Manchester Police

Any professionals who deal with domestic violence can get training provided by Greater Manchester Police.
