Latest updates to voting by proxy

  • Proxy votes: you must apply by 5pm, at least 6 working days before polling day.
  • Applications, amendments or cancellations of proxy votes for the combined Greater Manchester mayoral election and local election on Thursday, 2 May 2024 must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale, OL16 1XU by 5pm on Wednesday, 24 April 2024.
  • Emergency proxy votes: if you have a medical emergency, are away for work, or your photo ID is lost, stolen, destroyed, or damaged, you can apply for an emergency proxy vote up to 5pm on polling day.
  • If you applied for a proxy vote before 31 October 2023, this expired on 31 January 2024 and you need to apply for a new proxy vote.
