Reason
Resurfacing for the Bee Network Phase 2 highway improvement project.
Restriction and location

The work will be carried our in 3 phases. Only one phase will be carried out at a time.

Phase 1

  • Manchester Road in Castleton will be temporarily closed, from the junction with Onslow Street to the junction with Bolton Road.
  • Silk Street will have temporary one-way operation from the Tesco entrance to Manchester Road. Traffic will only be able to travel in a westerly direction.
  • Traffic will be temporarily prohibited from turning right from Bolton Road onto Manchester Road in Castleton.

Phase 2

  • Manchester Road will have temporary one-way operation. Traffic will not be able to travel in a north easterly direction from the junction with Bolton Road to the junction with Roch Valley Way.
  • Traffic won't be able to turn left from Bolton Road onto Manchester Road.
  • Traffic won't be able to exit the old section of Manchester Road from its junction onto the main section of Manchester Road. Instead, traffic will need to exit the old section through Roch Valley Way.
  • Traffic won't be able to turn right from Manchester Road in Castleton, so will only be able to turn left onto Bolton Road.
  • Traffic won't be able to travel along Silk Street in a westerly direction from the Tesco entrance to Manchester Road.

Phase 3

  • Manchester Road will have temporary one-way operation. Traffic will not be able to travel in a south westerly direction from the junction with Roch Valley Way to the junction with Bolton Road.
  • Traffic won't be able to turn left from Edinburgh Way onto Manchester Road.
  • Traffic won't be able to turn right from Roch Valley Way onto Manchester Road.
  • Silk Street will be closed from the junction with Manchester Road to the Tesco entrance.
  • Traffic won't be able to turn right from Manchester Road in Castleton onto Silk Street.
Alternative route

Alternative routes for vehicles will be signed on site as and when required.
