Clay Lane, roadworks in Rochdale from 8 January 2026

Expected start and finish: 8am, Thursday, 8 January 2026–11.59pm, Wednesday, 14 January 2026
Reason: To excavate a joint bay with track in the pavement and road to allow for a new electrical connection.
Restriction and location: Part of Clay Lane will be temporarily closed. The closure will begin 35 metres from the junction with Chepstow Close and end 34 metres along the road in an easterly direction.
Alternative route: Bagslate Moor Road, Sheffield Lane, Elmsfield Avenue, Scarfield Drive, Highfield Road, Bankfield Lane and Clay Lane.
