  • The temporary road closures will be in place from 6pm–8pm on Friday, 4 July 2025.

To hold The Herds event.
Restriction and location

The following streets will be temporarily closed. Each will be closed for their full length unless otherwise noted:

  • Adelaide Street, from the junction with John Street to the junction with York Street
  • Ann Street
  • Aspinall Street, from the junction with Adelaide Street to the junction with Miller Street
  • Buckley Street
  • Clarke Street
  • Dewhurst Street
  • Gorton Street, from the junction with Adelaide Street East to the junction with Grove Street
  • Grove Street
  • James Street
  • John Street, from the junction with Shadwell Street to the junction with Starkey Street
  • Miller Street
  • Mutual Street
  • Olive Street
  • Promenade Street, from the junction with Smithies Street to the junction with Aspinall Street
  • Prospect Place
  • Rutland Street
  • Shadwell Street East
  • Shadwell Street West
  • Starkey Street:
    • From the junction with Queens Park Road to the junction with Miller Street
    • From the junction with Bamford Road to the junction with Queens Park Road
  • Tonge Street
  • Townrow Street
  • Wild Street, from the junction with Adelaide Street East to the junction with Buckley Street

Waiting will be prohibited along the following streets:

  • Green Lane, both sides from the junction with Rochdale Road East to the junction with Roeacre Street
  • Queens Park Road, its easterly side for its entire length
  • Rochdale Road East, the northerly side from the junction with Rochdale Road to the junction with Barley Hall Street
  • York Street:
    • Both sides from the junction with Rochdale Road to the junction with Miller Street
    • The southerly side from the junction with Miller Street to the junction with John Street
Alternative route

Due to the nature and duration of the event, it is not necessary for alternative routes to be in place.
