Hate crime awareness funding for community groups

As part of Greater Manchester Hate Crime Awareness Week, 2-6 February 2026, we are offering funding for projects that support the priorities of the Greater Manchester Hate Crime Plan. About the Greater Manchester Hate Crime Plan

If you work on behalf of a community group based in the borough of Rochdale, you can apply for a grant of up to £1,000.

Your event or activity must take place in the borough of Rochdale and help to:

  • Improve education about hate crime, for example by helping residents understand how to report it
  • Prevent hate crime through early action, such as showing what organisations are doing to tackle it
  • Bring communities together to challenge hate crime and encourage people to share different views
  • Increase awareness of hate crime and its consequences, for example through public campaigns
  • Build confidence in reporting hate crime by explaining what support is available
  • Improve support for victims by raising awareness of services that can help them

The closing date for applications is Friday, 23 January 2026.

You should aim to hold your event or activity during Greater Manchester Hate Crime Awareness Week. We may accept applications for events or activities held after this date if they are launched during Hate Crime Awareness Week and take place by 31 March 2026.
