Darnhill youth club – Year 7 and above

A safe space for all young people to attend and engage in a range of activities such as pool, card/board games, arts and crafts, music, team games, challenges and more.

Youth workers are on hand to deliver engaging activities, informal learning and new experiences. Youth workers offer a wide range of support to aid young people’s personal, social and emotional development. Young people will also have the opportunity to take part in workshops to be involved in planning activities and creating artwork for the Darnhill Festival.

Young people who attend will also have the opportunity to take park in holiday activities and Youth service events. During the summer we may hold some sessions on the kick pitch in front of the building.

Short breaks session

Our short breaks funded universal youth sessions provides an environment for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to participate in a wide range of activities to promote their social, emotional development and with skills and knowledge to best support their needs.

Street-based youth work

Youth Workers meeting young people in their space and community within Heywood town centre and outlying areas. Youth workers engage with young people in conversations and activities, finding out about their needs or concerns, offering informal education and supporting them personally and socially. This session also gives an opportunity for us to connect with young people in their homes, check on their wellbeing, and connect them with other services. We also visit hotspots of anti-social behaviour engaging young people in positive conversations and diversionary activities.

Junior youth club

Come and join in the fun with arts and crafts, games, music and refreshments. Make new friends, learn new skills and develop social interaction skills.

Youth club – secondary Year 11

Chilled and relaxing youth club. Come and listen to your music, chat with youth work staff and feel free to be yourself in a calm environment. Staff are always on hand for a chat on any issues you may have and will always offer help and support.
