Nominations are open until Friday, 10 July 2026 for a special awards ceremony which recognises the ongoing dedication and outstanding contributions of education professionals across the borough.

The Raising Rochdale Education Awards, which take place in November 2026, celebrate the achievements of local teachers, tutors, support staff and others who help to give children and young people the best start in life.

Pupils, parents, carers, governors and school staff are all encouraged to make a nomination and highlight the individuals and teams who they know go above and beyond every day.

It could be the determination and effort shown by someone to support a child thrive in the classroom, or the collective efforts of a wider team to give pupils the very best education.

Shortlisted nominees will attend an awards evening on Friday, 20 November 2026 during a special ceremony at Rochdale Town Hall where the winners will be announced in front of their peers.

Event organiser, Andrew Bridson, who is also headteacher of Cardinal Langley RC High School, said:

“Our education system works tirelessly every year to make a lasting impact on our children and young people.

From supporting pupils to succeed in their exams and providing that nurturing care and support to those who need a little extra help, these people are amazing and this is our chance to highlight their work and say thanks for everything they do.

Last year, nominations nearly doubled, with more than 600 entries sharing some truly inspirational stories. We hope to receive even more this time round, and I encourage everyone to take a few minutes to submit a nomination as it really does make a difference.”

Sharon Hubber, director of children’s services at Rochdale Borough Council, added:

“We are delighted to support this year’s awards and look forward to another successful evening celebrating the outstanding dedication of education professionals across our borough.

They all work tirelessly to support us in giving children and young people the best start in life so let’s come together to appreciate their ongoing efforts to ‘Raising Rochdale’ and submit those nominations today.”
