The Holiday Hive is out and about. Join the Hive at Queen's Park, Heywood, for music themed family crafts and activities. Why not bring a personal picnic and make an afternoon of it?

- Who is this event suitable for? For families with children of all ages, but is most suitable for children aged 3 years and over. Children must be supervised by an appropriate adult at all times.
- Do I need to book? No, you can just come along. However, activities are ‘first come, first served’, so you may need to wait for a space at busy times.

Find us in the grassy area, near the bandstand.
The Hive will be joined by Intergenerational Music Making (IMM), to offer even more activities! IMM are taking part in 'The Great Heywood Festival' on Saturday, 22 August 2026 and would love to introduce the community to what they do.
Please don't forget to pack drinks and sun cream. Shaded areas may be found under the bandstand or within the library.
Activities are weather permitting. In the event of wet weather most activities will be held inside the Community Room.

Toilet, baby change and hand washing facilities available near the cafe.

- Create a musical mobile to take home
- Design a tile for the travelling tapestry *(community display project)
- Make a sun-catcher for the musical mosaic *(community display project)

* The Hive needs lots of helping hands to create a travelling tapestry and music theme sun catchers that will come together to make 2 artistic displays.
