About this event

28 January 2026–6 February 2026. An immersive night-time light and audio experience that transforms the town centre into a vibrant tapestry of memories, voices and lived experiences.

Originally created in Rochdale and now returning for the Greater Manchester Town of Culture programme, this edition is built from real stories, archival images, videos and recordings shared by local residents.

Audiences are invited to walk through the heart of the town while listening to powerful binaural soundscapes featuring everyday moments, personal histories and reflections from the people who call Rochdale home.

Through projected imagery and immersive storytelling, we bring familiar streets to life in new and unexpected ways.

This event is designed for Rochdale residents, families, visitors and anyone interested in the town’s culture and community. It celebrates the richness, diversity and resilience of local voices, offering a unique opportunity to see Rochdale from the inside out through the eyes and experiences of its own people.

The project is funded by Rochdale Borough Council and Rochdale Development Agency, with additional support from Arts Council England.
