The programme features a rich and varied selection including:
- Guilmant’s Sonata No. 1 in D minor
- Bach’s Pastorale
- Fela Sowande’s Kyrie
- Mendelssohn’s Prelude and Fugue in E minor
- Bizet’s rousing Farandole from L’Arlésienne
About Darius Battiwalla
Leeds City Organist since 2017, Darius is renowned for his dynamic programming and virtuosic performances. He has played at major UK cathedrals and with leading ensembles including the Hallé and London Philharmonic. His recent projects include a European premiere of James Wood’s work for 4 organs and a new CD featuring works by Whitlock, Sowande, and Grainger. Darius also teaches at the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Organists.
