Join the Slopes project archaeologists in exploring the intriguing development of Rochdale from Prehistoric hunter-gatherers to Industrial boomtown.

Mesolithic Flints, Norman Castles and Victorian Expansion – Rochdale and its surrounding townships have a fascinating history spanning millennia. Over the past few decades, archaeological excavations across the borough, along with small chance finds, have deepened our understanding of activity and development within the town and its surrounding areas.
