Hare Hill Park is a traditional Victorian Park with many original features. It has a wide range of leisure facilities, and is also home to the Littleborough Library.

Friends of Hare Hill Park

Friends of Hare Hill Park have been instrumental in returning the park to its former glory.

The group have attracted over £250,000 for its restoration. This has meant many original features can be appreciated by visitors.

There's a range of facilities at Hare Hill Park, including:

  • Fixed play areas
  • Skateboard park
  • Toddlers' play area
  • Sports pitch area
  • Bowling greens
  • Historical features, including a listed water wheel and the bandstand
  • Town library and information centre, formerly Hare Hill House
  • Guide dogs allowed

Council-run bowling greens close each year from 30 September until 1 April while we complete winter maintenance work.

There is free onsite parking at Hare Hill Park.

History

The Park was created by a prominent local family in the Victorian era, along with the building of Hare Hill House. It sits snugly in the very heart of the Littleborough community.

The family beneficiaries sold the house and gardens to Littleborough Urban District Council in 1900. Hare Hill Park is now owned and managed by Rochdale Borough Council.
