- Sufficiency Strategy
- Summary
-
All local authorities have a ‘Sufficiency duty’. This means that we are required to ensure that there
is sufficient high-quality accommodation for children and young people within our care (Statutory Guidance for Sufficiency 2010). In order to achieve this, every three years we gather data and feedback from children, young people and providers and analyse it to review the types of care that we provide and the amount of care that is available. This process also gives us an opportunity to understand gaps in the provision that we provide and the new types of care that we need to develop in order to meet our ‘Sufficiency duty’.
