Rochdale Rail Corridor Strategy

​The Rochdale Rail Corridor Strategy sets out how we'll use our many sustainable transport links to help spearhead the next major phase of regeneration for the borough.

With 5 railway stations already in the borough and plans for a new railway station at Slattocks, there's huge potential for growth.

We've identified land for around 7,000 new homes and brand new employment space around our railway stations, particularly on underdeveloped brownfield sites. Our plan is to create new homes in sustainable locations with existing amenities, so people are close to transport links and businesses. This will not only create new economic opportunities but also help us tackle the climate emergency.
