Apply for consent
If you want to work on a protected tree, you'll need to apply for our consent, unless the tree is damaged or dangerous.
It's FREE to apply for consent to work on a protected tree.
- To make sure you have everything you need to apply - read our help and guidance.
- Complete the application form on the Planning Portal by following the link below to apply for tree works.
- Once you've submitted the form, we aim to make a decision on your application within 6-8 weeks.
- If we approve your request, we'll send you an approval letter. You'll be able to begin the tree works immediately unless we outline any restrictions on your approval letter.
- If we refuse your application, we'll contact you to discuss the reasons why and what you can do next.
