‘We have built an amazing following at Bowlee and it continues to grow’

The event, now in its 14th year, takes a break on Sunday, 5 May 2024 to make way for Tour de Manc – the annual Greater Manchester not for profit charity bike ride that sets off from Bowlee Park with the choice of a 55-kilometre, 125-kilometre, 175-kilometre mile or 205-kilometre ride.

After the success of last year's extended season where 5 extra sales were held, 25 sales will take place again this year. Improvements for 2024 include:

  • New traffic management at the entrance on Heywood Old Road.
  • Contactless card payments will be accepted at the gates.
  • On 2 of the sales, parking for buyers will be reduced to £1.

There will be no last minute cancellations – if poor weather is forecast a decision will be announced by 6pm the day before the sale.

“Last year's extended season was very popular so I am pleased this much loved event is returning to Bowlee Community Park before Easter. We have built an amazing following at Bowlee and it continues to grow. Bargain hunters can sniff out great deals and one-off items - things you'd never find in a chain or department store and of course you can sell your own things too.”
