The government gave us funding to operate a discretionary scheme to support our low-income households with energy costs.
How do I apply?
You don't need to apply.
If you're eligible for this rebate, you'll receive the payment to your bank account or be credited to your Council Tax account automatically.
How much will I get?
We've already paid over half a million pounds from the discretionary fund to help households in receipt of Council Tax Support.
We've decided to share the remaining funding equally between pension-age claimants. This means that an extra payment of £5.70 will be made to each of these households.
How and when will I be paid?
If you pay your Council Tax by Direct Debit, or if we've made an energy rebate or Household Support Fund payment to you before, we'll make your payment into the same account by 30 November 2022.
If we don’t know your bank details, a payment of £5.70 will be credited to your Council Tax account no later than 30 November 2022. We'll send you a Council Tax adjustment notice showing this reduction and the new balance that you need to pay.
