Rochdale gives its name to the canal which links Manchester with
the the West Yorkshire canal network at Sowerby Bridge.
Hollingworth Lake which was built to feed the canal as it
crosses the Penines provides leisure and recreation opportunities
as well as a haven for wildlife.
