Road safety - cycling and walking
Our Road Safety staff:
- Visit every primary school in the borough to give primary
school children road safety education and resources
- Visit and resource playgroups and nurseries with free road
safety information for parents, children and nursery nurses
including videos and CD roms on request
- Have established links with the local health authority Health
Visitors service, through which it supplies a 'Yours For Life' road
safety pack for parents
- Visit all Secondary Schools annually and offer road safety
presentations to all year 7 pupils
- Have a road safety pack containing road safety information and
leaflets available for senior drivers and pedestrians.
Safer cycling
The Road Safety Unit offers its 'Safer Cycling' course to all
year six children throughout the borough. Contact the unit for
details.
The unit also has links with pre-driver establishments for car
and motor cycle training in your area.
Passed your test? Why not join the 'RAMS' Rochdale Advanced
Motorists. Be an even better driver and save money on your
insurance.
We are happy to supply resources to after school clubs,
Brownies, Cubs, Scouts, Girl Guides or any other members of the
community who require road safety information.
