St Thomas’
have achieved Healthy School Status, an Eco-School Award and
provide, or signpost to, the following extended services:
- School opening hours 7.45am – 6pm term time only
- There is no childcare provision during the holidays but the
school signposts to provision at Moorhouse Children’s Centre
- The School Hall is used daily for Before and After School
Club
- Various activities delivered by school staff include cookery,
gardening, French, recorders, choir, football, netball, rounders,
crickets and athletics
- Key Stage 1 pupils can also access choir, cookery, recorders
and gardening
- The School accesses various sports activities through the
School Sports Partnership
- There is an active Parent Association which regularly organise
activities like Barn Dance, Burns Night, Christmas events
- The school is used by Brownies, Guides, Rainbows, Church
Brigade and also Ballroom Dancing for adults and children on a Tue
& Wed eve
- Good links with School Nurse who holds a drop in every 3 weeks
which parents and children can access
Parents are supported at key transition times.
- New parents are invited into school in November and then on
various Fridays throughout the summer term
- There is a transitions day at Hollingworth High School which
the school promotes to parents
- The School holds information sessions for year 6 parents and
there are three Parents Evenings throughout the year
