Sunny Brow Nursery School
The school offers 52 part time places and has some
facilities for additional sessions, early starts and late finishes.
Services are being developed to meet the needs of the local
community. It also operates a small TOTs’ group, playgroup and some
parent education sessions
Sunny Brow is situated close to the centre of Middleton and the
nursery school is housed in a building of significant local
historical importance. It is surrounded by secure grounds with wide
and pleasant lawns, mature trees and shrubs making it a stimulating
setting for ‘out of doors’ activities. This is a permanent option
as the school is equipped with all-weather children’s clothing.
The school offers “Outstanding” education and care for three and
four year olds (Ofsted October 2005 and December 2008) and operates
the full Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, both indoors and
out. Recent developments have included the establishment of a
Forest School, where children have opportunities for learning in a
natural environment.
