Situated alongside Moorhouse Primary School on Crossley Street,
Milnrow, Moorhouse Sure Start Children's Centre offers a welcoming
and safe environment for families with children aged 0 – 5
years. There are excellent facilities for both exciting and
challenging indoor and outdoor play activities.
A variety of services are offered both in the centre and in the
community. Staff are able to offer families a range of support in
the home as well as the centre and some of the sessions on offer in
the centre include:
- Ante and post natal clinics
- Breast feeding support
- Citizens Advice Bureau sessions for free and impartial
advice
- A range of stay and play sessions appropriate to babies
and children of different ages
- A range of training opportunities for adults supported
by crèche provision
- An active parents forum
The centre offers a warm welcome to mums, dads, grandparents and
carers with children aged 0 – 5. Childminders and those who
look after children are also very welcome.
Staff from Moorhouse Children’s Centre work with families both
in the centre and out in community offering activities including
“Boogie Beats” a music and movement session at St Thomas Primary
School , Newhey and a stay and play session at Newhey Primary
School. Staff also support childminders at the Bee Happy toddler
Group at Butterworth Hall.
