Castlemere is a satellite centre to the Children’s Centre at
Deeplish which work closely together to make up the Deeplish and
Castlemere Campus.
Situated next to Castlemere Community Centre on Tweedale Street,
Castlemere Sure Start Children's Centre offers a convenient and
safe environment for children 0 – 5 year olds and their
families. There are excellent indoor facilities including a
large hall for special events and physical activities and
a new outdoor play terrace will be open in November
2009.
There is a warm welcome to all families from across the borough
irrespective of background, culture, lifestyle or family make up
and includes: mums, dads, grandparents, carers and
childminders.
The centres offer a variety of sessions for parents and children
to spend quality time together in a structured play
environment. There are also sessions just for parents, such
as Parent’s Drop In which is an informal parents forum where you
can come along, find out what is going on, share experiences with
other parents and get support and advice on a range of topics as
well as a session called Time for You, for children to be given
quality play experiences whilst their carer takes a well earned
break.
Typical sessions include:
- Baby Massage – quality time with you and baby to
stimulate their senses
- Baby Time - for more active babies to enjoy new
experiences with their parent /carers
- Busy Bees - play session to encourage language skills
for 0 – 4 year olds
- Music Time - a focussed session to encourage creative
development
- Stay and Play - quality play activities in a
stimulating environment
- Parent’s Drop In - an opportunity to meet other parents
/ carers and find out what is happening at the centre
- Job Club - for those looking for employment or
training opportunities
