Baby and toddler music groups
Children are grouped by age for music sessions which are
typically thirty minutes long. Based on Kodaly’s philosophy each
session is carefully structured to develop musical skills and
awareness. Simple rhymes and singing games are used to build
skills, for example, keeping a steady beat, finding a
singing voice and learning to sing in tune. Above all, the sessions
are good fun as children learn best when they are enjoying
themselves.
The children (and their parent or carer) are encouraged to
participate in the activities. All children are however,
individuals who respond and learn in different ways. Some will
prefer to sit and watch passively, and a few will appear to “opt
out” by moving to a different part of the room. This behaviour is
quite acceptable as the child will be listening and taking note,
and will join in when they feel like it.
Sessions are on Fridays during term time 10.30am - 11am.
Cost : £3 per session
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
