Moorhouse Sure Start Children’s Centre
Activities at the centre
There's a warm welcome to mums, dads, grandparents and carers
with children aged 0-5 years as well as childminders and those who
look after children. Staff from Moorhouse Children's Centre
work with families both in the centre and out in community offering
activities such as 'Boogie Beats' a music and movement
session at St Thomas Primary School.
Typical sessions include:
- Antenatal and postnatal clinics.
- Song and Rhyme Time - singing sessions for babies under 18
- Turbo Tots - physical play session.

Situated alongside Moorhouse Primary School on Crossley Street,
Milnrow, Moorhouse Sure Start Children's Centre offers a welcoming
and safe environment for families with children aged 0-5
years. There are excellent facilities for both exciting and
challenging indoor and outdoor play activities. A variety of
services are offered both in the centre and in the community. Staff
are able to offer families a range of support in the home as well
as the centre. Moorhouse is a satellite children's centre
branching from Newbold Children's Centre.
Moorhouse Children's Centre is linked with Teddy Bears
Private nursery, that provides funded nursery places for
Two Year Olds at the Children’s Centre between 1pm –
Advice and information from Citizens Advice Bureau
Alternate Monday's 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Citizens Advice Bureau offer a service within the centre to the
parents of children under 5 and pregnant mothers. The advice
sessions are free, independent, impartial and confidential. The
sessions will offer advice on any topic including:
- Debt Advice.
- Budget Advice.
- Tax Credits.
