Remove bulky household items

Donate your unwanted furniture

Most furniture re-use organisations can collect good quality items from your doorstep and the collection is usually free.

Request a bulky waste collection

Where possible, unwanted bulky items will be recycled. Good quality items fit for reuse will be collected and set aside for people who are looking for affordable furniture in their home. We use an appointment system for bulky waste collections, so we'll let you know the date we'll collect your unwanted bulky waste items. We collect items on a Monday and aim to collect the items you've told us need collecting within 10 working days. It may take us slightly longer around bank holidays, Easter and Christmas as we're especially busy.

Please note that we do not give assistance to prepare items for collection.

What we won't collect

We don't collect fluorescent tubes, gas bottles, concrete posts, car or motorbike parts, trees or asbestos. You'll need to bring any household asbestos to our facilities wrapped up in heavy duty plastic wrapping — you can use household rubble sacks that can be bought from super markets. We cannot accept unwrapped asbestos. We advise you take these items to your local Household Recycling Centre.

Items not listed on this page will require a visit from a supervisor to determine whether we will move them or not.

When and where to leave your items

Items for collection must be left outside at the front of your home (if possible) by 7am. Please keep them on your property if possible. We're not able to pick them up from inside your house or garage.

Please only put items such as mattresses, suites and upholstered furniture outside on the collection day to avoid them getting wet and becoming too heavy for us to remove.

Other ways of disposing of your bulky items

You could donate your bulky items to a local charity, the community or second hand shops, sell it through free ads, or
