Local Development Framework - Simplified Planning Zones
Heywood Distribution Park Simplified Planning Zone Scheme
Status / Progress
The Simplified Planning Zone (SPZ) for Heywood Distribution
Park was adopted on, and will be in effect for 10 years from,
8 April 2010.
Role of Heywood Distribution Park
SPZ
Scheme
A
SPZ
is a tool
for stimulating and encouraging economic growth, investment and job
creation. It achieves this by granting a blanket planning
permission for particular types of development within its
designation. Any conforming development proposed within the site
will not require a separate planning application thus ensuring
speed and certainty for firms and businesses wishing to locate at
the Park. The
SPZ
at
Heywood Distribution Park enables the consolidation of previous
planning permissions to allow better management of the floorspace
to meet the future development needs of the Borough.
Conditions are attached to the
SPZ
, similar to normal planning
conditions, which allow the Council to retain control over
developments within the Park. The
SPZ
will operate for a period of
10 years, from 8 April 2010 to 7 April 2020, after which normal
planning procedures over the control of development will
resume.
