Environmental policies
We try to make sure that the impact of new development
is regulated in the interests of good environmental management. We
encourage development that helps to make Rochdale a cleaner and
safer place.
We will seek the minimum practicable levels of ground, air,
water and noise pollution from all developments and will ensure
that existing levels of pollution in the borough are progressively
reduced as resources or opportunities permit.
Development and land use activities will be expected to
safeguard public safety and the natural environment, including
water-courses and flood plains.

Development Control Service and refer to the Unitary Development
Plan Adopted 2006.
