Digital communications stores O2 Rochdale and
O2 Middleton are backing this summer's Rochdale Feel Good Festival.
The O2 stores, based in Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre and Middleton Shopping Centre, will be official festival partners, promoting the event to their customers across the region and having a presence at the festival. O2 staff will be backstage all day, recording exclusive interviews with performers and sharing them on social media.
O2 'gurus' will be around to give free tech advice to festival goers and they'll be demonstrating the very latest in virtual reality technology. They'll also be running a series of exciting competitions throughout the day with some spectacular prizes up for grabs. The deal also sees O2's logo on festival marketing.
Danny Simpson, chief executive of O2 Rochdale said: "We're really pleased to be supporting this amazing festival again, using our digital technology to bring everyone even closer to the artists performing through social media. We will also be getting the public excited about technology, with digital wizards and gurus from our stores showcasing products and offering free impartial help and advice on phones and tablets".
Councillor Janet Emsley, our cabinet member for neighbourhoods, community and culture, visited the O2 Rochdale store to meet the team this week. "Local investment and support from our partners such as O2 Rochdale and O2 Middleton help the council deliver this event and provide an opportunity for thousands of families to come and enjoy fantastic performances and entertainment".
Rochdale store manager Rick Phelan added: 'I'm excited to be involved in this year's festival. It's always a fantastic event with great bands and entertainment".
