The countdown to Christmas begins in Rochdale this month - the festive market at the town hall, a big Christmas lights switch-on and fireworks is on Saturday, 25 November 2017.
Thousands are expected to attend the popular event that will include a festive market and family activities in Rochdale Town Hall.
Frozen characters Elsa, Anna and Olaf will be making a special trip to help Father Christmas officially switch-on the lights. The children's favourites will arrive at 4pm to meet and greet families ahead of the big switch on.
The market opens at 1pm, with a range of stalls in the magnificent setting of the Great Hall. Seasonal food and drink will be served in the Christmas Cafe and Wardle Community Brass Band will get you in the festive spirit with yuletide favourites!!
The town hall will be bathed in colourful lights and there will also be Christmas storytelling and craft sessions for children.
'The stunning town hall is the perfect destination for this event and with the wonderful lighting effects we have planned it will look more magical than ever'
Outside the town hall from 1pm there will be food and drink.
Councillor Janet Emsley, our cabinet member for culture, health and wellbeing, said:
"This is always a fantastic event which gets the festive season off to a really exciting start. With a local festive market, food and drink, activities for the children and our spectacular firework display, there really is something for everyone. The stunning town hall is the perfect destination for this event and with the wonderful lighting effects we have planned it will look more magical than ever."
