The date for next year's Williams BMW Rochdale Half Marathon and 10K will be Sunday, 7 October 2018.
Once again all races will start and finish by Rochdale Town Hall, they will be chip timed on fully marshalled traffic free courses, with a technical t-shirt and medal for finishers.
Since 2015 over 3,200 people have taken part in the event, which sets out on routes taking in town and some of the north west's most picturesque countryside scenes.
Councillor Janet Emsley, our cabinet member for neighbourhoods, community and culture said:
"I'm excited to confirm this event will be returning on Sunday, 7 October 2018. We are passionate about sport and hope lots of people will take the opportunity to make running one of our races top of their New Year's resolutions list! I look forward to welcoming runners to Rochdale and know many local people will also relish the opportunity of taking part again."
'This event exemplifies the community spirit of Rochdale and helps to raise much needed funds for valuable causes too'
The date when entries open will be announced soon, with 2017 entry prices being frozen and up to 300 discounted places available to buy before Saturday, 31 March 2018. This year the event attracted runners from across the UK as well as many from the borough, with spectators coming out in numbers to line many parts of the route.
The event will again be organised by Middleton Harriers, Rochdale Harriers and Rochdale Triathlon Club supported by us.
Alexandra Cook from title sponsor Williams BMW Rochdale said:
