Phone renewals: Ring the 24 hour renewal line
on 0845 121 2976.
You'll need your library card number when you ring. You'll be
able to find out:
- The due date of your books and items
- Any messages on your borrower record
- Any items that do not renew.
In person library renewals: You don't have to
bring the items back to the library when you want to renew
them. We will ask to see them after a few renewals, just to check
them. If somebody else has reserved an item we will ask you to
return it so that they can have it.
When to renew library loans
If you're not sure you'll be able to return your books or
loans before the due date it's a good idea to renew them as a
precaution to avoid incurring any potential library fines.
Please renew any overdue items as soon as possible to
stop any fines building up; you'll also be charged for postage
for any overdue notices we send you.
If an item is more than 6 months overdue and you
don't contact us, we will assume that you've lost it and
we'll send you a bill.
Library loans that can't be renewed
- Loans from the Best Sellers Collection, they'll need
to be brought back to the library. You may be able to borrow them
again immediately, depending on demand.
- Items reserved by others.
- Reference books.
- You can renew a loan 5 times. Once you've reached
that limit you'll need to bring the items back to the library
for checking. You may be able to borrow them again immediately,
depending on demand.
