Rochdale Central Library

The new central library at Number One Riverside opened to customers in March 2013. The multi use public building is in Rochdale town centre.

Opening times

The library is open during the following hours, we're closed on bank holidays.

Tuesday 9am- 5.30pm
Wednesday 9am- 5.30pm
Thursday 9am- 5.30pm
Friday 9am- 5.30pm
Saturday 9.30am- 5pm
Sunday Closed


Activities at the library

Macular Degeneration Group, 1.30pm-3.30pm (monthly).

Wordweavers Group, 5.30pm (every second and fourth Monday of the month).
Reading Group, 1pm (every 3 weeks).

Bookstart Bear Club for the under 5s, 1.30pm-2.30pm.

IT Training Sessions, 2pm - 3pm and 3pm - 4pm

Business support sessions - Open for Business, 10am-1pm

Talking Books - Reading Group, 2pm (third Thursday of the month).

IT Training Sessions, 2pm - 3pm and 3pm - 4pm


Stop Smoking sessions, 10am-2pm (alternate Fridays, appointments only).

CVS drop-in, 1pm-3pm (first Friday of the month).
Philosophy Coffee 2pm-4pm, (every fourth Saturday of the month).
