Langley Library Reading Group
Langley Library Reading Group meets on
the first Monday of the month at the library between 2pm
and 3pm.
Langley library hosts a monthly reading group
which is facilitated by member of staff Ian Goffin in his spare
time. The books discussed are provided by the library and are
chosen by the group from a special collection for the following
month at the end of each meeting, although book suggestions outside
of the reading group collection are always welcome.
The reading group currently has four
consistent members and so is always open to new people joining to
bring fresh dimensions to both the group and the discussions,
whether you want to make it a monthly feature in your diary or you
just want to drop in as a one off because you particularly like the
sound of the book!
Meetings include discussion on all components
of novels – the themes, characters, plot, language, narration, plus
your general thoughts and reviews of the book. The meetings
are relaxed and informal and an ideal way to have some fun and
lively discussion. Refreshments are also provided!
So if you enjoy reading and you want to meet
new people in a friendly environment, why not come along? You
can pop into the library anytime to pick up a copy of the current
book for the next meeting, or just come along to the next
meeting.
