History of Middleton Cemetery
The cemetery was created in 1912 to provide further burial space in Middleton. Since its opening, over 9,000 burials have taken place in the cemetery. A crematorium was added to the site in 1952.
In 2012, on the year of its centenary, the cemetery was extended to provide enough burial space for a further 16 years.
Further work improved pathways and car parking as well as new draining, water taps and foundations for the erection of headstones.
