People from across the borough will get a chance to brush up
their skills at the ‘Rochdale Skills and Learning Fair 2008’ being

Local, the NHS and In-2-Work will be offering help and advice on a
range of areas including free training courses, job opportunities,

eating, Training Grants to Graduate Opportunities at the free event
which runs between 11am and 6pm.
Organisers promise there’ll be plenty to see and do in addition
to lots of friendly advice. There’ll be help on offer for anyone
wanting to improve their literacy and numeracy skills or take the
European Computer Driving Licence computer qualification.
A celebration of learning
Penny Sharp, Head Regeneration at Rochdale Borough Council said
that the event will celebrate the energy and inspiration that
adults bring to their learning:
“This year’s fair is all about having a go, whether it be
learning a new skill, learning for fun, or catching up on learning
missed at school. Whether you want to gain new skills or
qualifications to get a promotion at work, or want to learn more
about a subject you’re interested in, the Rochdale Skills and
Learning Fair 2008 will be well worth a visit.”
The event will be followed by a presentation of awards to
recognise the efforts of adults who’ve already successfully
developed new skills, overcome difficulties or changed career.
