Keep those fridges chilled!
10 June 2008

Refrigerators across the borough will be chilling out to five
degrees as we promote National Food Safety Week (9-13 June 2008),
with the message – keep your fridges cold!
And to help make sure five degrees stays in tune, we are
giving away 150 free fridge thermometers to the first 150 people
who apply.
Research has indicated that for many years the majority of the
UK population is not aware that their home refrigerator should be
operating at about five degrees centigrade.
Keeping fridges at a temperature to ensure food stays fresh for
longer ultimately means it will be safer to eat, and therefore
minimising the risks of food poisoning and sickness.
Claim your FREE fridge thermometer
To be in with a chance of claiming a free fridge thermometer,

If you want to go out and buy a fridge thermometer, they can
usually be bought cheaply from most major supermarkets and
