Jobsfair 2008 is just the job for finding work

If you’re looking for work then the borough’s annual jobs fair
could be just what you need!
Many local employers will be at Rochdale Town Hall on Thursday
11 September 2008 (10am-4pm) with job vacancies available to apply
for on the day. Opportunities available include in the healthcare,
retail, IT and public sectors – and will be a range of full-time,
part-time and seasonal vacancies.
There will also be representatives from support organisations
who can help you with everything from searching for employment to
filling in application forms and giving you tips on job interviews.
A number of organisations that can help with training needs so that
you can further your employment opportunities will also be on hand
on the day to chat to. It’s all completely free – with no charge to
get in or for any advice.
Councillor Mohammad Sharif, cabinet member for regeneration,
said: “The jobs fair is a great way to meet prospective employers,
find out about the latest vacancies and talk to us about the help
and support we can offer.”
Local firms with jobs to offer
Local employers who will be at Jobsfair 2008 include Zen
Internet, Boots, Argos, Woolworths’ Customer Service Centre, BUPA,
the British Army, the Royal Navy, Greater Manchester Police,
Rochdale Boroughwide Housing and Rochdale Borough
Council.
Councillor Sharif added: “There is a lot of work going on at the
moment to help people get into employment – and there are jobs
available in a variety of roles. We’re pleased to be working in
partnership with Jobcentre Plus to put on this event and bring
local employers and training providers together so that people can
come and talk to them in one place.”
Need help getting there?
If you live in Middleton or Heywood and have difficulty getting
to Rochdale, a limited number of free places are available on
community transport on a first-come first-served basis. For more
